A few days ago I returned home from an amazing trip out to the west coast. A fellow photographer and very dear friend of mine and I headed out to Oregon to work on mastering our craft, learn some new tricks, and of course take in some sight seeing. Our trip started as we flew into Portland and then headed directly to Ecola State Park, we were hoping to catch a beautiful sunset but the clouds came rolling in just as we were winding down the road into the park. As the sun was setting behind the clouds and the wind was blowing we were still able to capture a few photographs and take in a bit of the fresh ocean air. Neat fact – part of the 1985 movie “The Goonies” was filmed in this park and the house is in Astoria, the same town we stayed!
The next day we were busy exploring Canon Beach and Oswald West State Park – both were amazing! Of course in such a beautiful place we had to go zip-lining (which I would do again in a heartbeat — what a fun experience)! And on our way back to Portland we stopped at Maltnomah Falls to see the waterfall – what a sight! Our workshop was well worth it and we came back with our heads spinning SO full of information (exciting things to come!), along with many new friends and connections from around the country. I am grateful to have such a great support system to continue to be able to take opportunities to grow as a person, photographer, and business owner. Even tho photographs don’t quite do justice to the beautiful scenery enjoy a few photos from our trip.
