Just got back from a couple days of vacation and it was as amazing as I was hoping for! Working for yourself and being your own business has many perks — I am so blessed to be able to do what I love but it’s not all glitz and glam. There is a lot of work behind the scenes and parts of running a business that are by far not my favorite, however it all goes hand in hand and makes the parts of running a business I do love, so much more special (like photographing and creating portraits for my clients to cherish.. my favorite part!) If you would ask my husband he would most likely agree I work a lot–when you work from home work is always here…there is always a list of things to get done and I will admit I have a hard time setting time aside to “not be working” when at home. As the busiest time of the year is approaching with fall and the holidays around the corner we decided it was the perfect time for a little vacation!
Growing up my parents had two timeshares at Breezy Point Resort, we would go twice a year and some of my favorite memories were created there! I had been back up at Breezy Point once since high school, but of course that was for a photography related workshop and only for a day. We figured my parents had not been back up there for about 11 years and my husband had never been to Breezy Point, so it was well overdue!
We were in good company as my aunt, uncle, and cousin joined us and it was a great time! We packed quite a bit in just a few days, rented a pontoon on the lake, took in some great entertainment Dockside~ Elvis, Jonny Cash, and Neil Diamond shows, mini golfed, enjoyed the pool, hiked, fished a little (thank goodness my cousin was there to take the fish off the hook..ick!) Enjoyed smores by the fire, ping pong at the rec. center, walked the beach, of course relaxed on the beach, and just some well needed relaxation!
We were very fortunate to have some beautiful weather! More great memories were made as Breezy Point will always be a special place, can’t wait to go back!
Rested and ready for fall and the holidays! Bring on the chaos!
