Lavender Dreams & Monster Smiles: A Sweet One-Year Cake Smash

There’s something extra special about photographing a baby through their entire first year — and this little lady has completely stolen my heart.

From her newborn session to her 6-month portraits and now her one-year cake smash, lavender has always been her color… and it didn’t disappoint. Soft, sweet, and perfectly suited to her personality, it’s safe to say lavender is officially her signature shade.

She was an absolute ham in front of the camera — serving up expression after expression — but my favorite by far was her famous “monster” smile. You know the one… big, cheesy, over-the-top and completely irresistible. The kind that makes you laugh out loud while clicking the shutter.

Cake smash sessions are always a blast, but this one was especially fun. Between curious little fingers, frosting-covered cheeks, and those priceless smiles, every moment felt like magic.

I’m beyond thankful to have photographed her throughout her first year. Watching these tiny humans grow is one of the greatest joys of my job — and let’s be honest… she is just the cutest.
